The Countdown begins...

I received a graduation present the other day of a book of encouraging quotes and bible verses for the graduate and I decided to flip through it this afternoon and I came across this quote:

"The great thing is to be found at one's post as a child of God, living each day as though it were our last, but planning as though our world might last a hundred years." - C.S. Lewis"

This really spoke to me today because I'm starting to countdown my days to when I leave for Italy. It's a bizarre and confusing mentality. While making sure I plan all my goodbyes to my friends here, packing up my life here, and making sure I have everything ready to go, I'm also planning my weekend trips while I'll be in Italy, and trying to prepare myself for the life I will soon be living.

I feel like I am starting to become 2 persons in one. It's hard to describe. The way CS Lewis puts it in his quote is very close to what I'm thinking right now. I've said to my friends many times, "I can't fathom living in a foreign country right now. I can see myself as a tourist and staying for a couple weeks, but when I think about living there, it's just hard to believe!"

I'm so blessed to have this opportunity set in front of me and I can't wait to see what happens! So in the meantime I plan to "Carpe Diem" and follow CS Lewis's advice.

28 days, 22 hours, 26 minutes, and 32 seconds until TAKE OFF!!!

Stay tuned to hear about the really exciting adventures to come!!
